12 Step Process to Thorough Image Control
1.
While on location, the Gamma-2U Chart is photographed for thorough control of video transfer.
2.
During the final rehersal or during an actual take, the scene is also photographed with a digital camera by the CCCP System Operator.
3.
The digital camera images are then transfered to the computer.
4.
Once downloaded, the digital images are then imported into the Gamma & Density CCCP Software.
5.
Under the supervision of the Director of Photography, the images are then color manipulated in real time by the CCCP System Operator while on location.
6.
Once in the system, the images are color corrected at any time: during a lunch break, after wrap or as time allows under the supervision of the Director of Photography.
7.
Color manipulation of the images includes adjusting according to lens, negative film stock, filters, print stocks, special processing, video and special effects.
8.
Final timed images are saved and sent to the laboratory/telecine bay on either disk or via internet transmission.
9.
Colorist begins session by calibrating the telecine according to the specific negative stock used during principal photography by referencing the Gamma-2U Chart.
10.
Using this calibaration, the Colorist then loads the camera negative onto the telecine and views it on the monitor.
11.
The Colorist then recalls images sent from the set on the telecine monitor.
12.
To complete the process the Colorist visually matches the original camera negative to the corrected digital images sent from location.
