TELECINE CALIBRATED CONTROL STRIPS
Gamma & Density
Thorough Control System
Other Color Chart Systems
The Thorough Control System also includes Telecine set up negative film strips of each film negative stock (35/16, Kodak, Fuji, Ilford) for use by the telecine facility. As we all know, all existing film negative stocks were designed differently and therefore require different adjustments during the telecine transfer. Those strips are exposed under strict photometry conditions (3200K or 5500K) and optical densities checked by densitometer. Telecine set up negative film strips are a negative image of the chart similar to Cinematographer's Color Chart. The only difference is the shape and size of 45 IRE and color.

This has been redesigned for convenience of color correction operations for telecine colorists. These negative strips may be purchased together with chart or separately. Telecine set up film strips on positive and intermediate stocks are also available. We recommend the use of these filmstrips (at least one negative) with the chart to utilize the Thorough Control System fully. Many of our clients, especially commercial and television cinematographers, have their own library of our Telecine set up negative film strips. When they are working in many different telecine facilities, they loan their strips to the facilities during the production or transfer.

The other systems claims they need only two reference films for the whole color negative film range. From a technical and practical POV, it is not correct. Moreover, they still need, according to the User's manual (page 3), one more strip- - - an old fashioned TAF strip, which has no bearing with their chart at all. It means that this other system is no system at all. AND WHAT ABOUT FUJI CUSTOMERS?
