| While the prime use of it is a film to tape transfer, thanks to the Exposure-Latitude index on the chart which permits on-the-spot analysis of important characteristics of your film stock such as contrast and latitude. It also allows for the comparison and analysis of various negative and print stocks. The exposure latitude strip consists of 14 fields. Each field is equal to a 1/2 stop difference in exposure. One of our charts is blown up to 36x32 and hangs in one of the Renting Houses in L.A. to help DP's and AC's to test stocks.
The next series of charts will have a special backing with different aspect frame ratios for convenience of DP's and colorists during the transfer of dailies The chart GAMMA=lc has an additional Information Area that helps the telecine colorist or lab timer to know the specifics of the particular scene or shot. The information area consists of three spaces to place the specially designed magnetic instruction labels. The index "SET UP FOR" could be labeled for different choices when color correction must be done according to the neutral-gray tone of the chart, the GRAY label is used.
The labels CORAL , SUNSET, DAY, NIGHT can be used to indicate to the timer immediately that this scene or shot contains special colors and tone adjustments which are not to be 3corrected2 out. The indexes FILTER, FILM, STOCK, MANUFACTURER are self -explanatory. Your chart comes with 40+ information labels and a few blanks. The system comes with a detailed manual, designed as a text book for cinematographers.
